Extension faculty have the lead role in educating clientele about the federal Worker Protection Standard (WPS) to protect pesticide handlers and workers on farms, forests, nurseries, and greenhouses. In-service training and train-the-trainer sessions are conducted, training materials are developed, and backup is provided for agents and specialists. WPS materials developed by the Department's program are used throughout the state and nationally.
