Health Professionals Outreach

Agromedicine is a partnership of medical and agricultural professionals promoting the health and safety of farm families, agricultural workers, and consumers of agricultural products. The Maryland Agromedicine Program extends the agromedicine approach to include non-agricultural populations exposed to environmental contaminants. The Maryland Agromedicine Program currently focuses on pesticides and offers workshops and educational materials for health care professionals. The Maryland Agromedicine Program is coordinated through the Pesticide Education and Assessment Program based at the University of Maryland, College Park. Collaborators include county and regional Extension educators, campus-based Extension specialists, medical and nursing professionals, the Maryland Poison Center, the Maryland-Delaware Area Health Education Center (AHEC), and the Maryland Department of Agriculture.

Maryland Agromedicine Program activities accessible through this web site include seminars, publications, and links to resources for health care providers.
